AFG College – University of Aberdeen has appointed Ebraheem al-Samadi, a Kuwaiti entrepreneur as ‘Entrepreneur in Residence’. 
A highly successful young entrepreneur, al-Samadi has developed highly successful retail businesses in the Gulf region as well as in Europe and the US. Al-Samadi said, “I am excited and honoured to be appointed Entrepreneur in Residence. I believe in the importance of role models and am passionate about passing on entrepreneurial knowledge.” 
Al-Samadi has been nominated for and awarded numerous business and lifestyle awards including Ahlan Hot 100, CEO Magazine, CEO of the Year and Arabian Business Start Up of the Year. He was presented with his ‘Entrepreneur in Residence’ certificate by Linda-Jane Buckle, director of Business Development (Academic) and members of the AFG College – University of Aberdeen Student Advisory Board for Entrepreneurs in Qatar: Sheikh Abdulla al-Thani; Ahmed al-Haider and Abdulrahman al-Theyab.
Buckle said, “Appointing an Entrepreneur in Residence is part of an ongoing commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship on our campus.  We are focused on contributing to the further development of Qatar’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in line with the new Five Year National Strategy 2018-2022.”
The role of ‘Entrepreneur in Residence’ has been created to provide students with a successful entrepreneurial role model who will also be active in supporting further student focused projects encouraging entrepreneurism.
