Strong winds are expected in parts of the country today along with thundery rain at times, the Qatar Met department has said.
It is also likely to get warmer as the weather office tweeted yesterday that “southeasterly to southwesterly fresh to strong winds are expected to affect the country on Sunday, causing blowing dust and low visibility along with a noticeable rise in temperature, reaching the
early-40C levels in some areas”.
The weather office has also issued a marine warning for thundershowers, windy conditions and high seas today.
The wind speed may go up to 30 knots inshore and 25 knots offshore, with the sea level rising to 7ft during the  thundery rain.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 42C in Abu Samra, 40C in Dukhan and 36C in Doha.
