Trainer Ibrahim al-Malki and connections leads in She’ris, Saleem Golam up, after their Musheireb Cup victory yesterday.

Abdulatif Hussain al-Emadi’s She’ris, Al Jeryan Stud’s AJS Jamra and Osama Omer al-Dafea’s Harry’s Dancer won trophies for their respective connections at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club yesterday.

In the 2000m finale of the nine-race card, Saleem Golam rode Ibrahim al-Malki-trained She’ris to his second victory this season, with the six-year-old edging out Hadi Nasser al-Ramzani-schooled Djelamer, with Tomas Lukasek astride, by a quarter of a length.
Lukasek and al-Ramzani had a winner in the penultimate race of the day when AJS Jamra made it two smashing victories in a row, with the filly winning the seven furlong Qatari Breeders Trophy by a mammoth 10 and a half lengths.
Harry’s Dancer was Stephan Ladjadj’s third winner on the day, guiding the mare to Abu Dhalouf Cup victory in a close finish ahead of Harry Bentley-ridden Botanica.
Pierre Deymonaz’s second winner of the day was Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani’s Sharesa, who picked up a comfortable win in the 1850m Local Purebred Arabian Conditions event under Ladjadj.
Abdulaziz Ali al-Kathiri’s Cristofano Allori continued with his impressive run under Ladjadj this season as the four-year-old won his third straight outing with ease topping the Class 4 Thoroughbred Handicap for horses rated 85 and below.
Earlier in the day, in a local Arabian novice event for Qatari riders, Almotasem al-Balushi was in the saddle for Julian Smart-trained Ezaajh as the filly shed her maiden status on her fourth career outing.
Deymonaz-schooled Konouz too registered her first career victory in a maiden race for Arabian stayers, while Bentley and his partner Mussaffah led a clean sweep for Champion Trainer Ghazali of the top three spots in the local Thoroughbred maiden sprint.
Bentley and Ghazali combined for two wins, with Khalifa bin Sheail al-Kuwari’s Deebaj following up his maiden victory from two weeks ago with a Purebred Arabian Handicap win over seven furlongs.
