Turkish Airlines brought its ever-growing World Golf Cup tournament to Doha Golf Club last week. The Doha event was well supported by the local business community and members of Doha Golf Club were among the competitors.
In this year’s tournament, the winners of the qualifiers progressed to the Grand Finals in Antalya in November, when they have the chance to secure a place in the Turkish Airlines Open pro-am, will fly Business Class and stay at a five-star Hotel.
Fazal Kazi will represent Doha there after winning the competition with 37 points, while 2016 Doha winner Uzma Mir was runner-up, Dong Yoon Kim was third. The Nearest the Pin competition on the 8th hole for men was won by Des Reid and Yasmian al-Sharsharni for the women on the 17th hole.
Fazal Kazi also won the lowest gross score with an impressive 75. Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup has more than 8,000 invited guests competing in more than 100 tournaments around the world.
