International trade and investment key to growth
HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has underlined that international trade and investment are a key part of Qatar’s future growth and economic diversification policy adopted by the State, noting that the United States is one of the largest and most important trading partners of Qatar, where the trade volume between the two countries during the past five years reached about $24bn. This came in a speech delivered by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce during the opening of the Qatari-US Economic Forum held in Charleston, South Carolina, as part of the economic tour of the US.

Kahramaa to mark Tarsheed celebration
Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp (Kahramaa) will hold the sixth annual celebration of the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) tomorrow, under the theme of ‘Qatar is Pulsing’. Kahramaa will announce the winners of Tarsheed competitions: Conserving Building Competition, Best Sustainable Local Products, Best Green Sustainable Initiative and the Sustainability Film Project competition. Tarsheed programme, which was launched in 2012, aims to reduce electricity consumption by 25% and water consumption by 35% by 2022.
