The Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) has issued an infographic on social media, presenting its performance in March across different parameters (pictured).
A comparison of the March figures with data published for February shows that livestock handling at Mwani Qatar facilities increased by 16,167 heads – from 99,157 heads in February to 115,324 last month.
Container handling, too, went up by 2,263 TEUs – from 103,735 TEUs in February to 105,998 TEUs in March, while the number of roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) units increased from 5,229 units to 5,766 in the said period, a rise of 537 units.
TEU refers to twenty-foot equivalent unit, a measure used for capacity in container transportation.
There was also an increase (by 901 tonnes) in the quantum of building materials handled, going up from 28,831 tonnes in February to 29,732 tonnes last month.
Meanwhile, Mwani Qatar also informed that 386 vessels were handled at its ports in March; in February.
