The tour delegation included Qatar Stars League Management’s Community Activities Head Abdulaziz al-Malki, Community Relations Officer Nasser al-Kuwari, Head of Media Abdullah Saleh al-Sulaiti, Media Officer Mohammed Rashid al-Khanji as well as Al Rayyan player Abdulrahman al-Karbi and his Al Sadd counterpart Mohamed Waad. The delegation was welcomed by Qatar Rail Marketing and Public Relations Vice-President Abdullah al-Mawlawi and a number of officials. The delegation gave a detailed brief of the Qatar Cup and the four competing clubs — Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa.
The visit proved to be a productive one to Qatar Rail staff, who took photographs with the trophy. Nasser said, “We’re highly satisfied with the visit to Qatar Rail. We’re proud of such institutions. The staff made several queries about the tournament, the trophy, competition format and the like.”
The tour will visit various places such as Hamad Port, Hamad Medical City, Aspire Park and sponsor sites in the coming days. Star players from the competing teams are expected to join the tour.
The semifinals will be played on 21st and 22nd April, and final on 27th April. All matches will kick off at the Al Sadd Stadium at 7pm.
Al Sadd will play Al Rayyan in the first semifinal, followed by the encounter between Al Duhail and Al Gharafa.
