Qatar yesterday condemned an explosion targeting mourners during the digging of graves in the town of Shirqat in northern Iraq, which killed and wounded many people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons. The statement expressed the condolences of Qatar to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Iraq.

Qatar taking part in Riyadh meeting
 Qatar is participating in the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers which started in Riyadh yesterday. The meeting will prepare the draft agenda and draft resolutions on the items presented to the Arab leaders during their summit meeting on Sunday in Dammam. Qatar’s delegation is headed by Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam al-Buainain.

Ministry announces exam schedule
 The Ministry of Education announced the schedule of the end-of-term exams for the academic year of 2017/2018. Temperature likely to go up today 
 The Qatar Met department has said a ‘slight rise’ in temperature is expected in parts of the country today due to southerly winds, including Doha and the southern areas, and also issued a warning for rain, thunder and strong winds.
