Al Gharafa won the 14th Arab Handball Cup championship after defeating Libya’s Al Ittihad Club 29-27 in the final, which was held on Sunday in Sfax, Tunisia. Gharafa were able to overcome the 14-15 first-half deficit, and rallied in the second half to win the title.
This is Gharafa’s first Arab trophy and the third for a Qatari team. Al Rayyan had won the 21st edition of the Arab Championship held in Sharjah, while Al Arabi had captured the Arab Super Cup title. 
Also, Al Gharafa had won the 37th GCC Handball Championship last year for the first time in their history.
Al Gharafa qualified for the quarter-finals after topping Group A In the quarter-finals, Al Gharafa defeated Qatar SC 31-30.
The Qatari side beat Tunisian side CS Sakiet Ezzit 26-23 in the semi-final, before defeating Libya’s Al Ittihad Club in the final. 
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Al Arabi won the Arab Super Cup title after defeating Tunisian side CS Sakiet Ezzit 30-24.
