For the third consecutive year, FameLab, one of the biggest science communication competitions in the world, took place in Qatar.
In the national final, the first three places from the student category were won by Ahmed Adel Abdel Hafiz from Ahmed Bin Hanbal Independent School, Amna al-Muhannadi from Al Bayan Independent School, and Mohamed Samir al-Ghazal from Ali bin Jassim Independent School, respectively.
Waad al-Khair from Qatar University won the first place in the adult category, and will represent Qatar at the International Finals at Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK. In second place was Laila Ismail from Rouda bint Jassim Independent secondary School.
More than 250 people took part in this year’s FameLab competition.
A total of 16 finalists were selected.
FameLab is initiated by Cheltenham Science Festivals and brought to Qatar by the British Council in partnership with Qatar National Research Fund and supported by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
