HEC Paris in Qatar has completed a session of its prominent HR Knowledge Lab, which addressed the current trends in performance management and examined how the digital transformation is impacting human resources management and processes.
The special session was held recently at HEC Paris’s Doha campus, in Tornado Tower, and was conducted by HEC Paris affiliate professor Philippe Gaud.
Gaud has more than 25 years’ experience in senior human resources (HR) positions with large multinational corporations, including Apple, and more than 10 years’ of teaching experience.
He explained: “Digital technologies are disrupting the corporate world, particularly the human resources aspect. With the increasing prevalence and amount of data, it raises the issue of the subjective nature of many HR practices.
“So, what is the best way to move forward and how do we manage that change?”
During the HR Knowledge Lab opening session, Gaud explored the latest trends in performance management.
One current growing trend discussed was the move away from traditional processes.
This interactive session encouraged participants to share their knowledge and experience.
The second session analysed the adoption of new technologies in business and how they have an impact on current HR practices, specifically the use of big data in predicting staff performance.
Around 40 senior HR specialists managers and directors from local and international companies attended the HR Knowledge Lab.
