Doha Bank has announced its sponsorship of the sixth edition of Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2018), as part of its commitment to continuously play an active role in supporting green and social responsibility initiatives locally and globally.
The exhibition was attended by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, Doha Bank acting chief retail banking officer Braik al-Marri, and Doha Bank head of administration and property department Ahmed al-Henzab.
Doha Bank’s sponsorship comes as part of its initiatives to support and promote sustainable development and environmental awareness. The bank’s several sustainability-focused initiatives include the ECO-Schools Programme in partnership with Unesco, annual Al Dana Green Run, eco-friendly banking products and services such as Green Mortgage, knowledge-sharing roadshows, and an array of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavours.

“Agriculture is an important sector for Qatar and the country has been making huge investments to promote domestic farming to achieve its goal of becoming largely self-sufficient in food,” said al-Henzab.
He added: “As an organisation that proactively participates in nation-building, we believe it is our responsibility to support initiatives that will promote research and development in the farming sector.
