Qatar and Turkey have reviewed co-operation ties in the fields of
agriculture and food security on the sidelines of the opening of the
Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) yesterday.
Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani met with
Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Ahmed Ashraf Faqi Baba at
the Turkish pavilion during the event. The meeting was graced by Qatar
Chamber board member Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Obaidli and Turkish ambassador

these profound relations. Qatari businessmen are interested to establish
joint economic and business alliances with their counterparts from
turkey and there are many Qatari companies that have concluded
agreements with Turkish companies.
“There is abundance of investment opportunities and there is room for
the Qatari and Turkish private sector to further co-operate in many
sectors,” said Sheikh Khalifa.
This was reiterated by the Turkish minister, who said, “There are various opportunities in projects that serve both countries’ economies.”
He added, “Turkey has considerable experience in food processing and is
ready to provide the Qatari market with all food stuffs and agricultural products.”
As many as 173 foreign companies, along with 130 Qatari farms are
showcasing their products at the exhibition, which will run until March
