General-Secretary of NHRC Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah and Director of Human Rights Department Brigadier Abdullah Saqr Al Mohannadi signed the cooperation agreement.

The agreement focuses on areas and prospects of cooperation between the Department of Human Rights and the NHRC, which include exchange of publications and experiences, handling of complaints and petitions received from the public along with cooperation in the field of knowledge production and capacity-building, and legislative harmonization with international human rights standards.

On that occasion, General-Secretary of NHRC termed the agreement signed between the NHRC and the Human Rights Department as very important, not only in strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two sides, but also in terms of allowing the parties to coordinate their efforts to deal effectively with public complaints to protect their rights and respond to their concerns, stressing that all of this is one of the most important objectives on which the Committee is working.
