Injaaz Stud’s Izzthatright added another win to his already impressive tally on Thursday, the prolific gelding, who was the clear pick on form, winning the Ain Khaled Cup, the feature event of the day, comfortably with a winning margin of two lengths at the Racing and Equestrian Club.
The Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi-saddled gelding was guided by Harry Bentley to top the six-furlong race. The Mohammed Riyaz Ibrahim Kasim-trained and Almotasem al-Balushi-helmed Sandbetweenourtoes was second with a half a length further ahead of the Hadi Nasser Rashid al-Ramzani-trained and Gerald Avranche-ridden Binzart.

Khalifa bin Sheail al-Kuwari’s Spaghetti had been fourth in a Group 1 on his most recent outing and returned the evening’s penultimate race with a smashing victory in the 2,200m long run.
Jassim Mohamed Ghazali Jahromi’s ward was steered by Harry Bentley to beat the competition with a little more than three lengths to spare.
The Ibrahim Saeed Ibrahim al-Malki-trained She’ris was second under Eduardo Pedroza while the Julian Colin Smart-schooled Shabah, ridden by Marc Lerner, completed the frame.

THOROUGHBREDS (Conditions) (Class 2)
The Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah & Son-owned Notalot ended his uninspiring efforts when saddled by Ahmed Mohamad Kobeissi to land the 1,400m conditions race on Thursday.
Saleem Golam guided the four-year-old gelding to resume winning ways since December and beat the Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi-trained Burrishoole Abbey, ridden by Harry Bentley, by a length. Another Jassim Mohamed Ghazali Jahromi’s ward, namely, Sir Guy Porteous was third under JP Guillambert.

LOCAL THOROUGHBREDS (Conditions)
The Mohamed bin Hamad Khalifa al-Attiyah-owned Al Lusail was the favourite for this 1400m contest. He has already quickly reached a useful level, winning twice from five starts and never out of the first three. He added a third victory to his record when Qatari jockey Faleh Bughanaim and trainer Hadi Nasser Rashid al-Ramzani combined well. The four-year-old clot beat Mohamed bin Hamad Khalifa al-Attiyah’s ward Abha, ridden by Tomas Lukasek, by a length while a head further down, the Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi-trained Mosayter (Country Reel x Red Bravo) completed the top three under Harry Bentley.

THOROUGHBRED (Conditions) (Class 2)
The Jassim Mohamed Ghazali Jahromi’s Opera Baron registered his first victory this season when JP Guillambert steered the gelding in the ten-furlong race. The Khalifa
bin Sheail al-Kuwari-owned five-year old continued to run well in some of the top races in defeat at Al Rayyan Park and bounced back a three-quarters of a length victory on Thursday. The Ahmed Mohamad Kobeissi-trained Hall of Mirrors and the Hadi Nasser Rashid al Ramzani-schooled Qatar Dance finished second and third under Adnan Hawa and Faleh Bughanaim respectively

PUREBRED ARABIANS (Conditions)
Hassan Ali al-Abdulmalik’s Almuheet resumed winning ways in the 1,100m contest. The Ahmed Mohamed Kobeissi-saddled six-year-old horse was rewarded for his consistent efforts as demonstrated by finishing runner-up on each of his last two starts.
With Saleem Golam in the saddle, he went one place better on Thursday, edged out the Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi-trained Caid De L’ardus, ridden by Harry Bentley, by half a length, placing his name on the score sheet for the first time this season.

LOCAL THOROUGHBRED
HANDICAP (4 Year Olds & Older Rated 70 – 90)
Mohamed Abdulla Abdulmalik’s Damsah ended her routine efforts since winning her maiden in January with a victory in the 2,200m run.
Ibrahim Saeed Ibrahim al-Malki’s ward was seven of nine last time out, but this time, under Anas al-Seyabi, did enough to beat the Mubarak Mohamed al-Khayareen-trained Al Jamaaheer, helmed by Harry Bentley, by three quarters of a length.
Al Ajdal with Tomas Lukasek astride for trainer Hadi Nasser Rashid al-Ramzani completed the top three.
THOROUGHBRED HANDICAP
(80 & Below) (Class 4)
Shaheen bin Khalid Shaheen al-Ghanim’s Galactic Prince backed up his encouraging placed efforts on Qatar debut last week with a victory in the card opener.
The four-year-old gelding had shown quality with two wins in the UK. On Thursday, Jassim Mohamed Ghazali Jahromi’s ward proved he was up to the expectations to make up the shortlist as he recorded his first win in Doha.
Harry Bentley guided Galactic Prince to edging out Hassan Ali al-Abdulmalik’s Alizoom by a length.
Vaclav Janacek steered the Deborah Amanda Clare Mountain-trained five-year-old gelding to his third runner-up finish this season. The Mohamed Riyaz Ibrahim Kasim-trained Fast Gold (Fast Company x Gold Tobougg) was third under Jean Baptiste Hamel.
