HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met a Canadian Parliament delegation currently visiting Qatar. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, and ways of enhancing  and developing them, besides the developments in the region, and matters of mutual interest.

Advisory Council approves draft law on industrial zones
The Advisory Council held its regular weekly session under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud yesterday.
The council discussed the Services and Public Utilities Committee’s report on a draft law on industrial zones. After an extensive discussion of the draft law, which comes within the framework of draft laws aimed at keeping pace with the economic development taking place in the country, the council approved the draft law in a modified form and decided to submit it to the Cabinet. 
At the outset of the meeting, HE al-Mahmoud briefed the Council on his meeting with the Canadian parliamentary delegation, in which they discussed the parliamentary relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and boost them, as well as the unjust siege imposed on Qatar and its violations of international law.
HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council praised the Canadian position on the siege expressed by the Canadian parliamentary delegation during the meeting.
The delegation stressed its understanding of the position of Qatar which calls for dialogue. The delegation of the Canadian parliament also affirmed its rejection of the siege and urged the immediate lifting of it because of its negative consequences. The delegation will also convey a true picture of these negative effects to the Canadian parliament.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a draft law on regulating road transport and decided to refer it to the Services and Public Utilities Committee for an in-depth study and a report.

Senegal’s FM meets Qatari attorney general
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal  Sidiki Kaba has met with Qatar’s Attorney-General HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, who is currently visiting Dakar.
The two sides discussed issues related to the rule of law and fighting corruption, besides the activities of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Office, which was opened in Senegal in 2015 with the support of the  Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre (ROLACC) in Doha.
