The Omani small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exhibition opened yesterday in Doha and will last for four days, during which its 28 pavilions will aim to introduce Omani industries, including fashion, textiles, antiques, gifts, perfumes and incense. The exhibition is organised by the Omani embassy in Doha in co-operation with Oman’s Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa) and the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada).
It is designed to replicate an old market to reflect the traditional Omani style. The event attracted wide crowd at Ezdan Mall where it is taking place. Qatar Chamber Vice-Chairman Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Tawar said that the exhibition constitutes an opportunity for SMEs to promote their products in the Qatari market, highlighting the importance of that role in economies.
The vice-chairman pointed to the wide support that the Qatari government offers for entrepreneurs and the state’s efforts to promote SMEs through initiatives and services provided by different state entities, including the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Qatar Development Bank.
