Qatar Petroleum (QP) held the first of three annual Continuous Service Awards ceremonies to recognize the dedication and long service of hundreds of its employees.

The ceremony honoured a total of 107 employees who have achieved career milestones of 30, 35 and 40 years of service with QP.

In a press release issued by QP Wednesday, President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum Eng. Saad Sherida Al Kaabi congratulated the honoured employees for their long and distinguished service and said that their long service says a lot about QP as an employer and as an incubator for human talent.

In a speech during the event, Al Kaabi said: ‘I have no doubt that Qatar Petroleum is home to some of the best professional talent in the regions oil and gas industry. I only have to look at what has been achieved in the past few years to see the true value of our people and their capabilities’.

‘I also have no doubt that with your continuous support and dedication, we will build greater milestones on the road to making Qatar Petroleum one of the best national oil companies in the world if the not the best,’ he added.

Al Kaabi highlighted some of the major landmarks defining the transformation of Qatar Petroleum into one of the best national oil companies in the world. He also emphasized the importance of the recently launched corporate strategy and values. ‘We will continue to count on your capabilities, talents and experience to help build a stronger corporate culture, and to help embrace the highest standards in everything that we do and in every aspect of our business,’ he said.

The Continuous Service Awards ceremony was attended by QPs executive vice presidents, corporate managers and other senior officials along with the 107 honoured staff, who consisted of 34 employees who have been working in QP for the past 30 years, 46 employees who have completed 35 years of service thus far, and 27 staff who have been part of the company for the past 40 years.

The awardees reflected QPs diverse workforce, and came from QPs various directorates and corporate departments in its major areas of operations in Doha, Dukhan Concession Area, Mesaieed Industrial City, Ras Laffan Industrial City, Halul Island and offshore production stations.

Two more Continuous Service Awards ceremonies will be held in the coming days to give recognition to other QP staff who have completed service milestones of 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. The annual event is being organized by QPs Public Relations and Communications Department in partnership with its Human Capital Directorate and other departments.
