Qatar's jewellery market continues to be buoyant and customers here have huge exposure to high-end ornaments, says Sajith Kottayan, a senior official of Devji aurum.

The well-known jeweller has been a regular participant in the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition over the years.
Devji aurum, which is featured in the Alfardan Jewellery pavilion at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, has been one of the first jewellers in the entire Gulf region, nearing more than six and a half decades of being a part of the business.
Kottayan said the expo attracts a large number of buyers and many of their clients were repeat visitors. "Customers have been regularly flocking to our boutique as they are immensely happy with our range of handcrafted ornaments," he stressed.
The jeweller has a fairly large collection of bridal wear, and many of them are available in traditional Arabic designs. "It is interesting to find that some Qatari women have a penchant for ornaments designed in Indian patterns and designs," added Kottiyan.
The Devji official pointed out that since women constitute more than 90% of their customers in the Qatar expo, they have largely concentrated on ornaments worn by women. "There are also some requests for cufflinks and Thasbiya, made of precious stones for men," the company official added while speaking on the strong patronage enjoyed by the company's ornaments over the years.
Devji aurum has been doing business with Alfardan Jewellery for more than four decades and the jeweller says their company is well aware of the tastes, likes and interests of customers in the Qatari market.
"Each piece showcased here has a unique feature or two, which every discernible customer in Qatar knows about," said Kottiyan.
