Chopard has partnered with Education Above Foundation to support its “Educate a Child” programme through two of its specially-created Happy Sport watch models, along with a Happy Diamonds pendant and two bracelets.
Keen to participate in charitable activities, Chopard said such move once again shows its commitment to noble causes.
Chopard, the ‘Big-Hearted Maison,’ has always regarded self-giving and generosity as its core values.
“When you’re lucky enough to lead a charmed life, it is only right to help those for whom life is a trial”: Caroline Scheufele has clearly understood that Chopard – a family firm passed on from generation to generation – must not confine itself to selling exceptional watches and jewellery but that it has a duty to dedicate the family-driven success and influence of the Maison to philanthropic commitments.
Already providing unconditional support for several charitable associations, including the Happy Hearts Foundation, Centerpoint – of which His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge is patron – and the Jose Carreras Foundation against Leukaemia, Chopard agreed to join forces with Education Above All Foundation.
This institution was set up in 2012 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in a bid to sustainably improve human, social and economic conditions worldwide through education.
For its co-operative endeavour with the Foundation, Chopard has specifically chosen to back the “Educate a Child” programme aiming to facilitate access to schooling for children in geographical areas where it is most threatened by poverty, environmental factors, cultural barriers or conflicts.
Looking firmly to the future and to those who will build tomorrow’s world, this programme wagers firmly on the benefits in terms of progress and prosperity that children’s education can provide. The Maison has chosen to express its commitment through models belonging to its iconic Happy Sport watches and Happy Diamonds jewellery ranges.
Picking up the aesthetic codes of these collections and their moving diamonds dancing between two sapphire crystals, a Happy Sport watch in 18-carat rose gold features a moving child figurine – inspired by the “Educate a Child” programme logo – twirling among three diamonds.
The figurine also appears on the delicately shimmering pink-tinged mother-of-pearl dial.
This special and indeed unique Happy Sport watch is fitted with a fuchsia pink alligator leather strap and a polished or diamond-set bezel.
They are matched with a round pendant necklace, as well as a bangle in 18-carat rose or white gold of which the two ends – a heart enclosing a moving diamond and a circle featuring an “Educate a Child” charm – face each other in an elegant pas de deux.
Pieces are available at Chopard and Education Above All stands at the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2018, taking place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre until
February 26.
