Social Services and Volunteering Club (SSVC) at the Academic Bridge Program (ABP), under the umbrella of Pre-University Education, recently organised a visit to Children’s Hospital.
A number of ABP students showed up to Hamad Hospital with gifts for the sick children. They brought variety of gifts from colouring books and teddy bears, to puzzles and Rubrik’s cubes ensuring that there would be something suitable for children of different ages. The children were full of joy when presented with their gifts. Moza al-Boainain, Assistant Director of Student Affairs and supervisor of the club, said, “Visiting the sick children in the hospital was a good opportunity for our students to give back to the community by giving the children gifts and talking to them and making them happy. Visiting the sick is an act of social service strongly encouraged by both our religion and culture, and also gives the student the feeling of being good and kind”.  The students visited the children’s Leukaemia Ward and the post-operative ward and were able to visit and bring smiles to the faces of over 40 children.
