Gulf Lights defeated Serandib ‘B’ by six wickets in the inaugural match of the Gulf Lights Cricket Tournament 2018 at the Losail Cricket Complex.
After winning the toss, Gulf Lights captain Rahid put Serandib B into bat. In the misty weather, Serandib ‘B’ had started cautiously and scored 27 runs for the loss of two wickets in first six overs. Gulf Lights bowlers never allowed Serandib ‘B’ batsman to score freely and took wickets at regular intervals.
Serandib finally were all out to 84 runs in the 17th over. Tushitha, Chanaka and Priyantha were the only batsman who registered double digit scores with Tushitha top scoring with 15 runs. Gulf Lights, Sarvar took six wickets dor giving 12 runs in his allotted three overs, while Hussain, Tariq, Asif, Umar and Javed took one wicket each.
In reply, Gulf Lights lost their opener Asif for a duck on the third ball of the first over without opening the team account. Thereafter the incoming batsman played carefully and upped the scoring rate. Javed scored 29 runs in 12 balls with four sixes. 
Tariq scored 13 runs, Qadir and Hussain scored 12 runs each. Gulf Lights won the match in 10.4 overs losing five wickets. Priyantha, Sujeewa, Upul, Raju and Harendra took one wicket each. For his all-round performance, Javed of Gulf Lights, was adjudged Man-of-the-Match. Managing Director of Gulf Lights Sanaullah inaugurated the tournament in the presence Qatar Veterans Cricket officials and players.

Engineering Supplies 118 for 4 in 20 overs (Ashik 23, Nasir 2 for 6) lost to MIC 122 for 9 in 16.5 overs (Bhaskar 26, Ranjith 3, Pramod 3 for 27).

CCRC defeated Al Jazeera Media Network by 120 runs
CCRC massive total was 234 for 10 wickets in 20 overs (Inthekab 44 in 23 balls, Ehfaz 41, Muzzamil 36, Nihal 2 for 27 and Mustaqeen 2 for 33) beat Al Jazeera Media Network 114 for 11 in 16.3 overs (Shadab 19, Sardar 3 for 27, Mazhar 2 for 8, Ehfaz 2 for 15).

Al Zaman Exchange defeated Ceylon Warriors by 25 runs
Al Zaman Exchange 198 runs for 10 wickets in 20 overs (Mazar 43 in 23 balls with, Firdosh 26, Shaji 24, Kadir 21, Rizan 2 for 15 runs) beat Ceylon Warriors 173 for 11 in 18.4 overs (Thushar 41, Pradeep 32, Irshad 22, Amol 19 for 4, Shaji 2 for 30). Man of the match: Shaji of Al Zaman Exchange.
