Fun, games mark Sport Day at Mowasalat

Mowasalat on Tuesday conducted many sports activities for its employees to mark National Sport Day.
The activities, held at Karwa City, kicked off with a 5km marathon which saw drivers and employees from all departments competing.
Mowasalat has a diverse workforce from 54 nationalities. The company provides various motivational activities for its staff to exhibit their talents and channelise their interests. To inculcate a sport culture among its staff, the company holds a Chairman’s Cup every year.
Mowasalat's football and basketball teams participate in various competitive tournaments organised in Qatar.
Mowasalat has accorded great importance in planning sporting facilities at its complex, including sports fields and highly equipped gyms to enhance fitness.
Teams from Mowasalat compete in events like marathon, relay race, basketball, football, volleyball, penalty shootout competition and free throw basketball tournaments.
In addition, fun games and activities were organised for families and children who attended and took part in the games in large numbers. The crowds cheered the participants.
The organising committee had meticulously planned the events with arrangements also being made to provide medical support in case of any emergencies.
During the event, the company's medical teams, which consisted of a physician, nurses and paramedics were made available. An ambulance was also kept on standby.
The company's health and safety team inspected and cleared the venue, activity area and other equipment before the event.
Mowasalat senior management presented trophies, medals and rewards for the winners.
In addition, Mowasalat also participated in the sports activities organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications at the Al Sadd Sports Club, along with all other entities working under the ministry.
