The students of Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) recently attended a workshop on the topic “Creative Writing Skills among Students”.
The workshop was conducted by Omer Naqi who is a creative writing expert of Canadian of Pakistani origin based in Doha. Approximately 40 students of Grade VIII, IX and X both from boys’ and girls’ wing attended the workshop.
It was a highly interactive workshop. Right from the very beginning till the end of session, the resource person held the attention of all the students by involving them in various fun activities and games. The students from both the wings were invited to participate in all the activities. They learnt basic skills of creative writing through the activities.
Thereafter, he led a discussion on creative writing. He emphasised how important this skill is for a student to learn, as it stretches the imagination and offers a wonderful outlet for expression.
Naqi ended the session by distributing some handouts to students mainly consisted of two assignments for the enhancement of creative writing skills. He did not only elaborate the assignments to students but also motivated them to complete the assignments in order to have more practice of creative writing.
