His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following decrees:
1. Decree No 7 of 2018, ratifying an agreement on co-operation and assistance in customs-related matters between the governments of Qatar and India, which was signed in Doha on June 5, 2016.
2. Decree No 8 of 2018, ratifying a memorandum of understanding on co-operation and exchange of information and services between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and Kazakhstan’s Kazinform INA news agency, which was signed in Doha on October 26, 2015.
3. Decree No 9 of 2018, ratifying an agreement on economic co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Poland, which was signed in Warsaw on May 5, 2017.
The decrees are effective starting from their date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.
Instruments of ratification
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued the following instruments of ratification yesterday:
1. An Instrument of ratification approving a draft memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the field of higher education between the governments of Qatar and Turkey, which was signed in Trabzon on December 18, 2016.
2. An instrument of ratification, approving the ratification of a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Qatar and Sri Lanka on the mutual exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports, which was signed in Doha on October 26, 2017.
3. An instrument of ratification, approving the ratification of a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the field of health and medical sciences between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, which was signed in Doha on October 26, 2017.
4. An instrument of ratification, approving the draft agreement on co-operation in the cultural field between the governments of the State of Qatar and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which was signed in Doha on November 21, 2017.
Minister holds talks in Addis Ababa
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi has met African Union (AU) Commissioner for Peace and Security, Smail Chergui, on the sidelines of the 30th summit of heads of states and governments of the AU in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. The meeting, which took place on Monday, discussed prospects for co-operation between Qatar and the AU.
Minister al-Muraikhi also held separate meetings with Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs Sidiki Kaba, and Ivory Coast’s Minister of African Integration and Ivoirians Abroad, Ally Coulibaly, on the sidelines of the 30th summit for African Union heads of states and governments in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. The meetings reviewed bilateral relations and means of enhancing and developing them, in addition to issues of common concern.
Qatar-France ties reviewed
HE the Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, met Pierre Duquesne, France’s ministerial delegate for the Mediterranean yesterday in Doha. They reviewed bilateral relations.
Advisory Council panel holds meeting
The Advisory Council’s Internal and Foreign Affairs Committee held a meeting yesterday under the chairmanship of its Rapporteur Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Ghorab al-Marri during the Council’s 46th regular session. The committee studied a draft law on the permanent residency identification card and decided to continue its study.
