Qatar’s exclusive GMC dealer, Mannai Trading, wheeled in two new vehicles as part of backing the Ride of Champions Festival.
Mannai Trading was the official automotive sponsor of the mass participation event, which seeks to promote cycling and build a sporting and healthy legacy for families and within the wider community.
The Ride of Champions took place on November 24, 2017 at Qatar Foundation in the Ceremonial Court, in the presence of delegates from embassies and Qatar ministries.
The event follows Qatar’s hosting of the 2016 UCI Road Cycling World Championships, which attracted 1,000 cyclists.
The event comprised three categories of distances to be covered by the cyclists: 48km, 78km and 137. 5km. The day also included a festival of cycling for families and new riders to the sport at Qatar Foundation.
Mannai Trading displayed the GMC Terrain and Acadia during the event, and gave away special gift prizes
during the event to lucky individuals.
Mohamed Helmy, Group general manager at Mannai Automotive Group, said: “As a business, we wanted to actively support sport and health projects within the community, and the Ride of Champions is a fantastic opportunity to help put back into the community.
“Qatar has gained recognition over recent years as a location for international cycling events and Mannai Trading is delighted to be sponsoring this year’s campaign.”
Dr Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, president of Qatar Cyclists Centre, the event organisers, said: “We are very grateful to Mannai Trading for supporting the event; the GMC support vehicles played a crucial role in leading riders on their experience and helped to ensure the safety of the event. GMC’s support, stand and prizes added to the overall community feel of the event and we hope to work with them in coming years to make the event bigger and better. It’s fantastic they are continuing their support with special offers for participants and cyclists in Qatar.”
During the event, Mannai Automotive extended the new GMC Campaign to event-goers by offering two offers on the Acadia and Terrain brands, available at QR2,422 a month (Acadia) and QR1,555 (Terrain), respectively, according to a press statement.
The GMC Campaign gives customers an in-house financing option to make a low down-payment, with the remaining amount being paid within those three years or more.
In-house credit is available, and the remaining balance after three years can be loaned and paid for another period of two to three years. There are also leasing programmes with zero down-payment options, the
statement notes.
Both the GMC Terrain and Acadia include three years’ comprehensive insurance, three years’ service programme and three years’ registration package.
