Ooredoo’s Chief Executive Officer Waleed Al-Sayed, yesterday thanked all
participants, spectators and sponsors of this year’s Ooredoo Doha
Marathon.
With over 2,400 runners and a host of professional athletes taking part
in the sixth Ooredoo Doha Marathon, the company has called it one of its
‘biggest events’ ever.
Talking about the event Ooredoo’s Chief Executive Officer Waleed
al-Sayed said: “I would like to congratulate the winners of the Ooredoo

year with the different communities of Qatar, nationals and residents,
running side by side in our sixth edition of the Marathon that was held
under the theme “United We Run”. We truly demonstrated our community
spirit and love for athletics.”
“I also want to thank our Sports Tourism Partner Qatar Tourism Authority
(QTA) for their support. Enabling the people of Qatar to run alongside
world-class athletes taking part in our half marathon category is a huge
boost to our vision of inspiring more people to get fit and active.”

The 2018 edition of the Marathon marked the first time Ooredoo partners
with QTA to help raise the country’s largest mass-participation event
profile internationally.

Qatar’s schools, a Marathon Master Class led by Sir Mo Farah with
students from Aspire Academy, and a special ‘Meet and Greet’ at Mall of

This year’s marathon was held under the theme #UnitedWeRun and featured
courses for runners of all abilities – including a 10km and 5km run,
half-marathon, full marathon and a special children’s 1km fun run.
All funds raised from the Ooredoo Doha Marathon 2018 will go to

2013, is designed to help Qatar’s people become more active and healthy,
and has grown into a highly-anticipated event for experienced marathon
runners, health conscious people and novices alike.

as the company continues to support Qatar’s communities to adopt a
healthier lifestyle.
