Sri Lankan mourners light candles at the grave of the editor Lasantha Wickrematunga on the ninth anniversary of his murder in Colombo, yesterday. The family of Lanka’s assassinated editor criticised President Maithripala Sirisena’s government yesterday for failing to prosecute the perpetrators nine years since the internationally condemned murder. Wickrematunga was stabbed to death as he drove to his Sunday Leader offices near Colombo days before he was to testify in a corruption case involving the then defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse.
