The Falcons and Hunting Festival,’ which runs until January 27, continues to "attract a large number of Arab and foreign tourists" at Sebkhat Marmi – Sealine, the organisers have said in a statement.

The visitors want to learn more about the various competitions included in the festival such as the Al Da’u Championship, they point out.
The Al Da’u Championship aims to measure the speed of falcons across a given 400m flight path, while the Al Tal’ Championship and the Hadad Al Tahadi Championship test the hunting skills of juvenile peregrine falcons.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Hadad Al Saluqi Championship is dedicated to the pure Arabian saluki breeds (non-crossbred).
The dogs follow a vehicle with a dangling deer - gazelle - for 2km and the first to reach the finish line wins the race.
A traditional Arabic majlis showcasing Qatari hospitality has been set up at the venue. The organising committee also offers visitors traditional food and a number of services.
The venue has ATMs, tour shops and fishing accessories available, in addition to the falcons’ museum and Souq Waqif Falcons Hospital.
The organisers noted that all the competitions are open to the public who can access the site of the festival through signage placed along the road from Doha to Al Wakrah and Mesaieed to Sebkhat Marmi.
