Commercial Bank has conducted a number of outreach activities to include the wider Qatari community as part of its Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations.
Volunteers from Commercial Bank visited the children’s floor at Al Wakra Hospital, many independent schools, international schools and Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, distributing special National Day gifts, the bank said in a statement.
Two girls’ independent schools performed a traditional song in front of Commercial Bank board members, employees and guests at the bank’s staff event honouring Qatari heritage at Commercial Bank Plaza.
Celebratory events were also held at the bank’s branches from December 10 to 14. All branches were decorated in the national colours to welcome customers and visitors, serving popular Arabic coffee and sweets. Activities included gift distribution among children, henna drawing and photography booths in addition to a chance to get falconry-themed photographs.
Commercial Bank Group CEO Joseph Abraham said, “As a leading company in Qatar’s private sector, CSR is integral to our business and we have a responsibility to give back to the Qatari community. Qatar National Day is a proud day in Qatar’s history that all Qataris should be able to enjoy, including those in less fortunate circumstances, and also children as they are the future of the nation.
“We have therefore included local schools in Commercial Bank’s staff celebrations, distributed gifts to children at local hospitals and helped many people to enjoy the National Day joy.”
