Swedish ambassador Ewan Polano has lauded Qatar for its “strong resilience and impressive performance” during the last half year of 2017, congratulating its wise leadership and the country’s National Day this year.
“I believe many in the world and in the region have  been equally impressed and taken by surprise,” the envoy stressed.
“I send my warmest regards to His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and family and to the wonderful people in Qatar, wishing everybody success, health and all the best,” Polano said.
She also cited the substantial increase in bilateral trade between Qatar and Sweden, which “has developed in a surprisingly positive way” during the first three quarters of this year.
From January to September, the envoy noted a 49% increase in exports from Sweden while Swedish imports from Qatar grew by 138%.
“We can still do even more and we are eager to continue supporting this great trend at my embassy in Doha,” Polano said.
