Qatar set a new Guinness World Record on Sunday for having the highest number of people take part in the creation of a portrait. The huge portrait - of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani - was unveiled on Sunday by HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani in the Police College pavilion at Darb Al Saai.
A total of 13,824 people were involved in painting the portrait, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a post on Twitter. HE the Director-General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi received a certificate confirming the record from a Guinness representative. The participants expressed their happiness and pride in taking part in such an initiative, which enabled them to express their love for the country and His Highness the Emir. A large number of people were present during the ceremony.
