A road accident in the British Midlands has killed six people and left one person critically injured, emergency services said. Six vehicles, including a black taxi cab, were involved in the crash at the entrance to an underpass in the city of Birmingham, the West Midlands Ambulance Service said. Most of the victims were declared dead at the “extremely complex and distressing crash scene,” a spokesman said. Those with more minor injuries were taken to hospital nearby. Police said they are following various lines of investigation including the condition of the road when the crash happened at Belgrave and Lee Bank Middleway, near Edgbaston.
