A host of activities will be held at Asian Town on December 18 as part of Qatar National Day celebrations.
According to a release from Ibn Ajayan Projects (IAP), owners of Asian Town, the activities are being organised to mark this year’s most momentous occasion of the country.
A series of events that reflect the country’s heritage, culture and traditions will be held at Asian Town. They are organised in association with Ministry of Interior (MoI).
IAP is organising Ardha, a traditional Arabic sword dance between 6 and 9pm on December 18. It will be held in front of Plaza Mall. Ardha is a celebratory dance that symbolises strength and unity where all visitors will be welcomed and encouraged to participate alongside the
dancers.
The programmes are organised in different locations of Asian Town, including the outside yard at the cricket stadium, entrance of Plaza Mall gates among many. There will be a stage show by Nepali artists and a “Bhojpuri Maithili Night”, at the Asian Town amphitheatre.
A music concert by a troupe consisting of Pakistani artists has also been scheduled for
December 18.
The organisers have also announced a free blood sugar check-up on National Day.
Asian Town Cricket stadium is set to entertain the country’s cricket lovers as three international matches are scheduled for December 15, 16 and 18.
Top cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are playing in the three-day tournament. The entry is free.
