Qatar Charity (QC) has launched its ‘Orphan Below Zero’ campaign for the second year in a row to alleviate the suffering of children and orphans in poor areas characterised by a sharp drop in winter temperatures.
The campaign aims to raise QR3,000,000 to support orphans in Turkey, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia, Albania, and Kosovo.
QC Executive Director of Operations Faisal al-Fahaida said that QC seeks to provide for the people who are suffering from cold and hunger in the neediest areas, highlighting the suffering of orphans in areas of conflict and humanitarian crisis, as well as sending a humanitarian message to the world and to expand the initiative at the global level.
Al-Fahaida pointed out that through the Orphan Below Zero campaign, QC will provide winter bags for orphans in countries that are living in exceptional circumstances and acute crises.
He pointed out that one bag contains (winter clothes, blankets, health supplies and food). He appealed to donors to interact with the campaign to help orphans in countries affected or housing refugees.
QC Executive Director of Operations pointed out that the donation can be made through QC’s collection points, home collection, QC application, Rofaqa.com and the credit card.
It is worth noting that QC launched the second stage of the strategic plan for the Rofaqa Orphan Care Initiative under the slogan ‘Rofaqa Continues to Give’. It aims to sponsor 150,000 orphans by the end of 2018.
