Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, unveiled its new logo at Darb Al Saai over the weekend. The new brand identity reaffirms Al Shaqab’s vision to be the leading equine centre of excellence.
“We are delighted to unveil Al Shaqab’s new logo with refreshed vision and mission, which reflects our commitment to nurturing equestrian sport with a keen appreciation of Qatar’s heritage. This year marks Al Shaqab’s 25th anniversary, and our success and legacy over the past 25 years is testament to the key role we play in bringing together history, culture and sport, while actively engaging the community in Qatar,” said Al Shaqab executive director Khalifa al-Attiyah.
The revamped logo maintains the essence of the existing identity, but has several points of distinction. The colour scheme is aligned with the national framework by emphasising Qatar’s maroon. The three champion horses have also been redrawn to accentuate their Arabian features, while the focal horse, Marwan, represents the pride of Al Shaqab’s breeding programme and is a symbol of its contribution to Qatar’s story that is told around the world.
Sharing its renewed mission, al-Attiyah added: “We are a global equine leader, passionately committed to preserving Qatar’s heritage. We aim to do this by promoting the Arabian horse and setting the highest standards in horse welfare, breeding, equine education and research.”
Al Shaqab celebrated its 25th anniversary and the launch of its new brand identity at its Dar Al Saai booth where it hosted a number of fun activities including a 3D puzzle shaped, an Instagram frame where families were able to have their photo taken, and Arabian horse illustrations for children to colour-in. The selection of activities will also include a prestigious Arabian horse show, pony rides, as well as a dedicated riding area for ladies.
