His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between Qatar and France.
The two countries signed a letter of intent on fighting terrorism, which included a road map on strengthening co-operation between Qatar and France to fight terrorism and its financing, and combat extremism.
Other agreements included co-operation in the defence field between the Qatari and French defence ministries, the seventh executive programme in the field of education and higher education for the cultural and artistic co-operation agreement, a memorandum of understanding between Qatar National Library and National Library of France, another between Qatar Airways and Airbus Group, and a co-operation agreement between the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and French waste and water management group Suez.
In addition, the two countries signed a memorandum of commitment and mutual co-operation to provide services for Qatar Metro and Lusail tram between Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) and an alliance of French national railway corporation (SNCF) and autonomous operator of Parisian transports (RATP).
The Emir and the French president also witnessed the signing of a letter of agreement for co-operation between the Qatari Ministry of Defence and Dassault Aviation Group as well as a letter of intent on co-operation between Qatar's Ministry of Defence and Nexter company for ground defences.
His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and a number of ministers attended the signing ceremony.
On the French side, a number of ministers and senior officials accompanying macron were present.
