HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met the Russian ambassador to Qatar Nurmakhmad Kholov in Doha yesterday.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing the prospects of co-operation between Qatar and Russia, as well as issues of mutual concern.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Emir establishes free zones authority board
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued yesterday the Emiri Decision No 24 of 2017 on forming the board of directors of free zones authority.
The decision appointed Ahmad bin Mohamed al-Sayed as chairman of the board of directors, Mohamed Ali al-Mannai as deputy chairman, and HE Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal al-Thani, Brig Abdullah Salim al-Ali, Mohamed Hassan al-Saadi, Abdulaziz Jassim al-Muftah, Tamim Hamad al-Kawari, Yousuf Mohamed al-Jaidah and Nasser Khalil al-Jaidah as board members. The decision also authorised the Prime Minister to assign two additional experienced board members.
The decision is effective starting from its date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Emiri decisions on ambassadors
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the Emiri Decision No 26 of 2017, appointing Jabor Ali Hussein al-Dosari as ambassador to Kenya.
The Emir also issued the Emiri Decision No 27 of 2017, transferring Jassim Rashid Mubarak al-Khalifa, the ambassador to Ukraine, to the Foreign Ministry. The two decisions are effective starting from their date of issue and are to published in the official gazette.

Doha Document for Peace in Darfur a boon for Sudan
Completing the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur enabled Sudan to achieve positive development in all areas, Sudanese Minister of Environment, Natural Resources and Urban Development Hassan Abdel Qader Hilal said yesterday.
Hilal said the end of the war helped in improving the economic situation and ensuring social stability in the country. He added that Qatar plays a major role in Sudan within the framework of development, stability and reconstruction of the country. Speaking exclusively to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Hilal added that the progress of the Sudanese and Qatari relations and the co-operation between both countries enabled the peace process in Darfur to achieve a huge success and benefit regional stability.
