Doha will host a business forum for Qatari and Turkish manufacturers during the first months of next year, aiming at promoting co-operation between the private sectors in both countries in investment fields, notably the industrial sector, Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar al-Kuwari announced yesterday.
The announcement came during a meeting between Qatar Chamber and a delegation from the Turkish Korfez Chamber of Commerce led by its Chairman Sibel Morali to discuss the arrangement for convening the forum, which will bring together businessmen and suppliers from both countries in Doha.
The Forum will include presentations on investment opportunities and incentives for the establishment of bilateral businesses between the two sides, as well as presentations on industrial cities and logistics areas in the two countries.

Minister reviews Qatar-Japan relations
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi yesterday met the Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Masahisa Sato yesterday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing the bilateral relations and mutual co-operation, as well as issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by several officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Advisory Council’s finance committee holds meeting
The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the Advisory Council held its first meeting at the 46th ordinary session yesterday.
At the outset of the meeting, the Committee unanimously elected member Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misnad al-Mohannadi as its Rapporteur for this session.
The Committee studied Decree Law No 21 of 2017 amending some provisions of Law No 34 of 2005 on Investment Free Zone.
The Committee decided to submit its report to the Advisory Council.

Qatar attends Arab League-EU envoys’ meeting
The sixth joint meeting between permanent representatives of Arab states to the Arab League with the Political and Security Committee of the European Union was held yesterday in Brussels.
The Qatari delegation was led by Saif bin Muqaddam al-Buainain, Qatar’s permanent representative to the Arab League.

Institute to showcase French books at fair
The French Institute in Qatar will showcase a large selection of French books, as well as Arabic and English ones, at the 28th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, scheduled to take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre from today to December 5.
The institute’s booth, set up under the patronage of the French embassy in Doha and supported by FNAC-Fifty One East, will offer different activities for all age groups: from children storytelling to meeting and book signing with French authors for seven days.
This year, the institute will receive Loic Clément and Bertrand Gatignol, authors of the comic book Le Voleur de Souhaits with Clément Lefèvre; illustrator, as well as the pastry chef of La Cigale Hotel-Doha, Nicolas Champaud to present The Cakes of my Life; and Nabil Benali, laureate of the Plumes Francophones Prize 2017 for The Spy of Algiers.
The booth will be open from 10am to 9pm today (book fair opening), from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and from 9am to 9pm during the rest of the event.

Indian embassy to hold community house tomorrow
The monthly community house at the Indian embassy will be held tomorrow (Thursday) between 3pm and 4pm.
Ambassador and other embassy officials will listen to/redress any urgent labour and consular issues of the Indian expatriates in Qatar, the embassy announced in a statement yesterday.
