Officials of Qatar Chamber met with a delegation from Sudan headed by Governor of the North Kurdufan Ahmed Mohamed Haroon yesterday to review cooperation ties in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, and food security.
In a press statement, Qatar Chamber said both sides affirmed the importance of developing trade and investment cooperation ties of the private sector of both countries, especially in North Kurdufan, “which is rich of investment opportunities.”
Haroon said Qatar and Sudan enjoy “strong relations,” saying that there are host of investment opportunities in the Sudanese economy, particularly after lifting the trade sanctions on the country. 
Qatar Chamber vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari said Sudan “is a haven” for Arabic food security projects “due to the huge potentials it enjoys, including fertile lands, irrigation water, and raw materials.”
“There are promising opportunities of investment in the Sudan in the sectors of agriculture, livestock, and mining. Qatar has big agricultural investments in Sudan and Qatari businessmen have keen interest to increase investment there,” he noted.
Al-Kuwari assured the chamber’s support to build “active partnerships” between businessmen of both countries’, and to the “great efforts it exerts for enhancing Qatari investments in the Sudan.”
