Alfardan Sports Motors, as the official dealer of Ferrari in Qatar, has turned the renowned Italian marque’s passion for motor racing into an awareness drive held in recognition of November, Men’s Cancer Awareness Month.
In partnership with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), the dealership has hosted an exclusive track day for Ferrari owners in Qatar while drawing focus on the various types of cancer affecting both men and women.
The event kicked off at the showroom in The Pearl-Qatar, from where a motorcade made its way to the Losail International Circuit in “true Ferrari style”, according to a press statement. Shortly after arriving at the circuit, a representative from QCS conducted an awareness lecture on cancer in general and men’s cancers in particular, before launching the track day with a safety brief.
As part of the event, attendees scorched the 5.3km racetrack in some of the top-performing, luxury models under the supervision of trained Corso Pilota drivers – the world-famous Ferrari team of Italian driving instructors from Maranello. “With each lap, the models demonstrated unparalleled efficiency and speed of the Prancing Horse,” the statement noted.
Further, the winner of the fastest lap time was rewarded with the Corso Pilota driving course in Italy. Commenting on the event, general manager of Ferrari Qatar at Alfardan Sports Motors, Charly Dagher, said: “The month of November brings special attention to a number of health issues, especially cancer. Since Ferrari track days are highly popular among our clients, we believe it was the perfect opportunity to shed light on cancer awareness amid a fun and thrilling experience. We are grateful to our clients for making this initiative a success, and urge residents of Qatar to take time off their hectic lifestyle and focus on their health.”
Alfardan Sports Motors caters to aficionados of sports vehicles in Qatar, offering one of the world’s most coveted iconic brands in sports and luxury automobiles. Alongside its “commitment towards service excellence, the dealership strongly focuses on community support through a range of CSR initiatives all year round”, the statement adds.
