His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday chaired the third board meeting of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in 2017 at the Emiri Diwan. His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Personal Representative of His Highness the Emir and the deputy board chairman, also attended the meeting. In addition, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani attended the meeting in his capacity as a board member along with other members. The meeting reviewed the latest developments of the 2022 Qatar World Cup projects and what has been achieved in the previous period.

Attack on Afghan
capital condemned 

Qatar has strongly condemned an attack in the Afghan capital Kabul, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position rejecting of violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons. The statement expressed the condolences of Qatar to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Afghanistan, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

Ghana president invites
Qatari businessmen

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has invited Qatari businessmen to invest in his country and benefit from Ghana’s investment opportunities in agriculture, mining, water and other sectors. During his meeting with Qatari businessmen in Doha yesterday, the Ghanaian president said his country was an attractive home for investment because of its distinctive geographic location and natural resources. Reviewing his country’s potential in many investment fields, the president stressed the interest of the Ghana to strengthen co-operation with Qatar in the gas industry and other sectors.
