Hundreds of Qatar residents gathered at the Museum of Islamic (MIA) Park to celebrate the many cultures that make up Qatar. The festival opening was attended by Qatar Museums (QM) CEO Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud, MIA director Dr Julia Gonella as well as the ambassadors of China, Bangladesh, Morocco, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Syria and Sudan. Participants from many countries shared their culture with event attendees by showcasing traditional clothing, music, games, books and more, Qatar Museums said in a statement. There was also a selection of food and beverages representing each country. Countries represented include Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Palestine, Morocco, Bangladesh, Philippines, India, China, Tanzania, the US, Canada, Turkey, Afghanistan and Sudan. The event is part of QM’s “commitment to promote understanding, recognition and appreciation of different cultures, traditions and people of Qatar”, the statement noted.
