His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued Emiri Order No 3 of 2017, assigning HE the Minister of Justice Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi to assume additional duties of the minister of state for cabinet affairs, and to annul item 2 of Article 1 of Emiri Decision No 4 of 2013. The order is effective starting from its date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.
Meeting reviews counter-terror MoU
US and Qatari officials met in Washington, DC on November 8 for the first bilateral counter-terrorism dialogue. A press note issued by the US State Department said the delegations reviewed Qatar’s positive progress in implementing the US-Qatar counter-terrorism Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Doha on July 11 by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and HE Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.
