Qatar is participating in the 23rd annual Conference of the Parties (COP) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) being held in Bonn, Germany for two weeks.

The Qatari delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communications and Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

The delegation also includes representatives from Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp (Kahramaa), Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar University as well as a number of Qatari university students in aim to encourage them to engage in the field of climate change and raise awareness of the community, which reflects positively on their scientific and practical progress.

The Qatari delegation will participate in the meetings in addition to its efforts in strengthening the co-ordination with other countries during the negotiations which Qatar is a member of, such as the Arab group, Group 77 and China, the group of states with similar thoughts.

In addition, the delegation will participate in the events on the sidelines of the conference such as exhibitions, workshops and lectures which reflects the efforts exerted in the field of climate change.
