The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has called on all Muslims in the State to perform Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer on Thursday in line with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to pray for rainfall when rain is lacking.
In a statement, the ministry called for the performance of Istisqa prayer at the state's mosques on Thursday the 20th of Safar 1439, AH corresponding to November 9, 2017 at 06.01 am.
It added that on the occasion, the ministry reminded Muslims of the requirement for the acceptance of dua (pleading to Allah) which include fasting, offering sadaqa, repentance to Allah, cleaning their bodies and using miswak.
