His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a session of official talks with Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir at the Emir Diwan yesterday. During the talks, they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed a number of issues of common concern, especially the developments in the region.
The talks were attended by His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, a number Qatari ministers and the members of the delegation accompanying the Sudanese president.
Following the talks the Emir hosted a luncheon in honour of the Sudanese president and his accompanying delegation.
Later in the evening, President Bashir left Doha after an official one-day visit to Qatar.
Meanwhile, Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour, in a press statement at the end of the Sudanese president’s visit to Doha, affirmed the depth of the bilateral relations between Qatar and Sudan, praising the results of the talks held by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President Bashir.
