A first-of-its-kind conference in the Middle East and North African region on District Cooling & Heating will begin on Tuesday under the auspices of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada at Ritz Carlton Doha.

The two-day event is held in association with the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA). It is being organised by Marafeq Qatar, in association with the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and Euroheat & Power.
Delegates from several European organisations, decision-makers and entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the conference.
The event will also feature the 5th Global District Energy Climate Awards Ceremony, honouring the five best companies and projects all over the globe which have adopted innovative technologies in the conservation of energy used in cooling and heating systems.
Marafaq Qatar CEO Ahmed al-Ammari said the conference is a clear evidence for Qatar's firm belief in the significance of environmental conservation and the prevention of pollution of any type.
The conference will include sessions on various issues concerning district cooling and heating, namely the best practices and benchmarks in the field, markets and customer awareness, unification of standards, quality control, resource usage efficiency set in the Montreal protocol, and the common challenges facing operation and maintenance processes.
Along with the conference, there will be an exhibition for entrepreneurs and business delegates. Several local and global companies will participate in the exhibition.
