Actor under fire for remarks

Tamil actor Kamal Haasan was under fire last week for his comments on a herbal syrup Neelavembu being given to dengue patients.
The syrup is prepared by Siddha doctors and distributed in all medical facilities in the state. Haasan’s comment on Twitter and other social media sparked outrage from politicians and public.
The actor later issued a clarification.
“There is no justification at all in some people spreading falsehood that I am against Neelavembu. I had only criticised the distribution of the medicine without doctors’ advice or in excess.”
After this, a police complaint against the actor was also withdrawn.
