The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will open a clinic in the Sealine
area of Qatar next month, ahead of the start of this year’s camping
season.
The Sealine Medical Centre, which is set to open on November 2, will
operate every weekend during the camping season, opening each Thursday
at 3pm and remaining open until Saturday at 5pm.
HMC chief communications officer Ali Abdullah al-Khater, who also chairs
the Healthcare Communications Committee, said that this is the eighth
consecutive year that HMC has operated the clinic.
He explained that the clinic is located close to the shore and popular
camping areas to allow for easier access should healthcare services be
required by residents or visitors.
“The annual opening of the clinic in the Sealine area is in line with
HMC’s commitment to providing the safest, most effective, and most
compassionate care to all of Qatar’s residents and visitors,” said
al-Khater.
The HMC official, who is also the project manager for the Sealine
Medical Centre, said that the clinic will be staffed by a doctor and
nurse, and equipped to handle patients with minor health concerns, as
well as emergency cases.
The clinic is supported by HMC’s Ambulance Service, providing campers
with round-the-clock access to a team of paramedics and well-equipped
ambulance vehicles.
The clinic also has a helipad to transfer patients from the beach to the clinic, and transfer acute cases to hospital.
